The Thanksgiving holiday takes a tragic turn when a 12 year old girl dies in an ATV accident.It happened near Highway 58 in the California Valley, just before noon Thursday. Investigators say Ashlyn Vargas was thrown from the vehicle in the accident and the ATV rolled on top of her.
"She wouldn't wake up and I was crying for help but nobody could hear me and I tried calling 911 but they couldn't understand me so I had to leave her alone and I had to go get my dad and they wouldn't let me go see her. They told me everything was going to be okay but it wasn't," Huffman said through tears.
Ashlyn died instantly. "She got a little comfortable with it and the girls kind of kept swapping bikes back and forth and she jumped in and she didn't put a seatbelt on. She got a little fishtailed and when it rolled, it ejected her and it rolled on top of her," said Ashyln's father.
